This piece was inspired by a trip to visit my sister in my childhood home of Ohio earlier this year, and also by the memories of fireflies, which were such common phenomenon at that point in my life. These days, seeing an abundance of fireflies is a much less common experience for me… and I think that is what made me even more aware of how magical they really were.
