I began this painting on January 1st, and it is my first piece completed in 2022. My intentions for this year are to push myself to levels I have not reached before, in all areas of life. As far as my artwork goes, this piece truly did challenge me to level up. The title "Portal" refers to opening the door to new chapters, and is also a nod to the metaphysical healing properties of crystals. Amethyst is said to increase creativity & intuition, and dispel negative energy.
"Portal" is completed with acrylic paint and touches of silver leaf, on gallery stretched canvas. It measures 30"x40" on 1.5" deep stretched canvas, and is varnished with archival gloss varnish, wired on the back, and ready to hang.
